The call for creatives in Scotland met with a fantastic response and was overwhelmingly answered by creative practitioners throughout the Highlands and Islands. The team in Scotland received 56 applicants for the creative grants to bring stories to life, covering a wide range of stories and incorporating a fascinating mix of ideas for new products from across the creative spectrum including music, poetry, dance, textiles, ceramics, sculpture and even live re-creations. With a limited number of grants available the team faced the unenviable task of scoring and sorting applications to shortlist the finalists, a list that was then presented to project partners in Northern Ireland, Finland, Sweden and Russia. “It was absolutely amazing to have so many SMEs engaging with the project and the quality and originality of the applicants was a real pleasure to see”- Katie Murray, UHI Project Officer The team will meet with the successful applicants later this week and development work will begin on the 15th July.
